How to make a QR code
Type or paste a link or any text into the box. The QR code updates instantly. Pick colors and a size if you like, then press Download PNG for screens and documents, or SVG for printing at any size without blurring.
Ideas for using QR codes
- Wi-Fi: use the Wi-Fi button, replace NetworkName and password with yours, and guests can join by scanning.
- Menus, flyers and posters: link to your website, menu or sign-up form.
- Business cards: link to your portfolio or contact page.
- Events: share tickets, schedules or maps.
Tips for QR codes that always scan
- Keep strong contrast: a dark code on a light background works best. Light codes on dark backgrounds don't scan on some phones.
- Print it at least 2 cm (about 0.8 inches) wide, larger if people will scan from a distance.
- Shorter links make simpler codes that scan faster.
- Test it with your phone's camera before printing.
What is error correction?
QR codes store extra backup data so they still scan if part of the code is scratched, dirty or covered. Higher error correction makes the code more robust but also denser. Medium is right for most uses. Choose High or Highest for printed codes that might get worn.
Frequently asked questions
Do these QR codes expire?
No. The link or text is stored directly in the code itself, so it works forever. Nothing depends on our website.
Is it free for business use?
Yes. You can use the QR codes you make anywhere, including on products, menus and printed materials.
Can I change where the QR code points after printing?
No. The content is built into the code. If you might need to change it later, point the code at a page on your own website that you can update.
Do you see what I put in the QR code?
No. The code is created entirely in your browser.
